Know What You're Breathing

Real-time air quality monitoring for your exact location. Because the air quality 10 miles away isn't your air quality.

Regional Data, Miles Away

Most weather apps show AQI from government monitoring stations — often miles from where you actually live. But air quality can vary by 10x within a few city blocks. A neighbor's fire pit, heavy traffic, local construction — none of that shows up in regional data.

Your Air. Your Location.

LuxWX shows air quality at your station's exact location. Real-time AQI, PM2.5, PM10, with health recommendations and trend analysis. Know what you're actually breathing — not what someone miles away is breathing.

What is AQI?

The Air Quality Index (AQI) is a standardized scale that translates complex air pollution data into a simple number. The higher the AQI, the more polluted the air and the greater the health concern.

The AQI Scale

From fresh mountain air to "stay inside" warnings

0-50

Good

Air quality is satisfactory. Little to no health risk. Enjoy outdoor activities!

51-100

Moderate

Acceptable quality. Unusually sensitive people may experience minor effects.

101-150

Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups

Children, elderly, and those with respiratory conditions should limit prolonged outdoor exertion.

151-200

Unhealthy

Everyone may begin to experience health effects. Sensitive groups should avoid outdoor exertion.

201-300

Very Unhealthy

Health alert: everyone may experience serious effects. Avoid prolonged outdoor activity.

300+

Hazardous

Emergency conditions. The entire population is likely to be affected. Stay indoors.

What We Track

PM2.5

Fine particulate matter

Particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers — so tiny they can penetrate deep into your lungs and even enter your bloodstream. The most dangerous pollutant for long-term health.

Sources: Vehicle exhaust, wildfires, industrial emissions, cooking

PM10

Coarse particulate matter

Larger particles up to 10 micrometers. These include dust, pollen, and mold spores. They irritate eyes, nose, and throat, and can trigger allergies and asthma.

Sources: Dust, pollen, construction, unpaved roads

Why Hyperlocal AQI Matters

Regional AQI readings from government stations are often miles away and updated hourly. But air quality can change dramatically within blocks:

  • A neighbor's fire pit or BBQ
  • Heavy traffic on a nearby road
  • Local construction kicking up dust
  • Wildfire smoke drifting through your area
10x

AQI can vary by a factor of 10 within
just a few city blocks

Who Benefits from Air Quality Monitoring?

Allergy & Asthma Sufferers

Know before you step outside whether today's air will trigger symptoms. Plan outdoor activities for better air days.

Parents

Should the kids play outside today? Check the AQI and make an informed decision about outdoor playtime.

Wildfire Season Residents

Track smoke conditions at your home. Know when to close windows, run air purifiers, or limit outdoor exposure.
