Terms of Service

Introduction

LuxWX is a weather data platform operated by Luxardo Labs, LLC. By using LuxWX, you agree to these terms and the Luxardo Labs Terms of Service, which are incorporated by reference. If there's a conflict between these terms and the Luxardo Labs terms, these service-specific terms take precedence for LuxWX.

The Luxardo Labs Terms include important provisions about liability limitations, dispute resolution, indemnification, and other legal matters that apply to your use of LuxWX.

What LuxWX Does

LuxWX collects, stores, and visualizes weather data from your WeatherFlow stations. We calculate derived metrics like feels-like temperature and dew point, send you alerts, and let you explore your weather history. If you connect a solar inverter, we track production, efficiency, and anomalies. That's the service.

Third-Party Data Sources

LuxWX integrates data from third-party services to enhance your experience:

WeatherFlow: Your personal weather station data, accessed via OAuth with your permission. WeatherFlow's terms and privacy policy govern your relationship with them.

PurpleAir: Air quality sensor data from nearby consumer-grade sensors. PurpleAir data is provided "as is" and accuracy is not guaranteed. Air quality readings should not be relied upon for medical decisions — consult official EPA or AirNow sources for health-critical information. See PurpleAir's terms.

SolarEdge: Solar inverter production data, accessed via your API key with your permission. Your API key is stored encrypted and used only for server-side data synchronization. SolarEdge's terms govern your relationship with them. See SolarEdge's terms.

Open Topo Data: Terrain elevation data from NASA's SRTM 30m dataset, used to compute terrain-adjusted sunrise and sunset times. Elevation data is public domain.

National Weather Service (NWS): Forecast data, weather alerts, and observations. NWS data is public domain provided by the U.S. government.

Third-Party API Credentials

Some features require you to provide API credentials from third-party services (for example, a SolarEdge API key for solar production tracking). These credentials are encrypted at rest and are used exclusively for server-side data synchronization on your behalf. We never share your credentials with other users or third parties. You can disconnect and delete stored credentials at any time from your station settings.

Your Account

You must be at least 13 years old to use LuxWX (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you're under 18, you need parental or guardian consent. Keep your login credentials secure — you're responsible for everything that happens under your account.

Subscriptions and Payments

We offer different subscription tiers with different features. Payments are processed through Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel anytime from your account settings — cancellation takes effect immediately, and we'll refund the prorated unused portion of your subscription. Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank.

Prices may change with notice. We'll email you before any price change affects your subscription.

Your Data

Ownership: Your weather data belongs to you. We store and process it to provide the service, but it's yours.

Export: You can export your weather history anytime in CSV or JSON format from your account settings.

Retention: We keep your weather data as long as your account is active. Different subscription tiers have different historical data retention limits. If you cancel a paid subscription, you have a 7-day grace period to export your data before retention reverts to free-tier limits.

Deletion: If you delete your account, deletion is immediate. Export your data first — we can't recover it once it's gone.

Inactive Accounts (Free Tier)

Free accounts require periodic activity to keep data collection running. This helps us allocate resources fairly across the platform. Paid accounts (Pro, VIP) are fully exempt — your collection runs 24/7 regardless of activity.

What counts as activity: Logging in to LuxWX via the web or mobile app. That's it — just visiting your dashboard is enough.

What happens if you're inactive: We'll send email reminders before taking any action. If your account remains inactive, data collection will be paused (hibernated) after 45–75 days depending on your usage history. Your account, stations, and settings are all preserved — just log in to instantly resume collection.

Account deletion: If a hibernated account remains inactive for an additional 75 days (roughly 4–5 months of total inactivity), the account will be deleted and data purged. You'll receive a warning email 30 days before deletion. Logging in at any point cancels the deletion countdown.

In short: use LuxWX occasionally and your free account stays active. If life gets busy, we'll keep your config around for months before cleaning up — and you can always come back.

Acceptable Use

Use LuxWX for its intended purpose: tracking and analyzing your weather data. Don't:

• Use the service for anything illegal
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Scrape, crawl, or automatically access the service beyond normal use
• Resell or redistribute the service without permission
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

Basically, use LuxWX the way it's intended — to track your weather.

Service Disclaimers

We work hard to keep LuxWX running smoothly, but weather data comes with inherent limitations:

Accuracy: Weather sensors can be finicky. Readings depend on sensor calibration, placement, environmental factors, and hardware condition. We display what your sensors report — we can't guarantee accuracy.

Availability: We aim for high uptime but can't promise 100% availability. Maintenance, updates, and the occasional bad day happen.

Important: LuxWX is not intended for safety-critical applications. Do not rely on LuxWX data for decisions involving life safety, emergency response, aviation, marine navigation, or any situation where inaccurate data could result in injury, death, or property damage. For such purposes, use official sources like the National Weather Service.

Privacy

How we handle your personal information is covered in our Privacy Policy. The short version: we respect your privacy and don't sell your data.

Termination

You can close your account anytime from your account settings.

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the Luxardo Labs Terms of Service. If that happens, we'll try to give you 7 days notice to export your data — unless the violation is severe enough to require immediate action.
