Battery & Power

Your display is designed for long battery life with smart power management.

How It Works

Your display uses an e-ink screen, which only consumes power when the image changes — not while displaying it. Between updates, the device enters deep sleep to conserve battery.

Daytime: Wakes every 15 minutes to refresh weather data
Nighttime: Wakes every 60 minutes (less frequent to save battery)

Battery Indicator

The battery icon in the top-right corner of the status bar shows the current charge level. Your display settings page shows a percentage and estimated days until you need to charge.

Full 60–100% — plenty of charge remaining
Medium 30–60% — consider charging soon
Low 10–30% — charge soon
Critical Below 10% — charge as soon as possible

Charging

Connect a USB-C cable to charge your display. The display continues to work normally while charging.

You can also leave the display permanently connected to USB-C power if you prefer not to rely on the battery.

Extending Battery Life

  • Night mode reduces update frequency automatically (enabled by default)
  • Increase the sleep interval in display settings for even longer battery life
  • Place the display where WiFi signal is strong — weak signal means longer wake times
  • Firmware updates may skip if battery is below 30% to prevent issues
